'There Is Much More to Be Done': Polyphony Digital Steps Up Gran Turismo Recruitment 1

Polyphony Digital is hiring for its GT Explore Studio, a department with offices around the world which liaises with various real-life car manufacturers on in-game concepts, like the Vision GT series.

The role, which involves a lot of schmoozing, will see successful candidates help shape the future of the automotive industry by building strong collaborations and partnerships with some of the world’s biggest vehicular brands.

But what’s interesting is that the job spec speaks generally about the Gran Turismo franchise, and not explicitly the most recent release Gran Turismo 7.

It reads:

“We have continued to produce the Gran Turismo series for over 25 years now. The biggest reason we were able to continue this for so long, is the existence of our player base, and we believe it is proof that the hard work we poured our lives into have truly resonated with them. We are proud to have brought ideas of the future into reality over the years through art and technology.

But we still think there is much more to be done to provide the best experience for our players. For those of you who have that unending urge to create, to ‘create the future through art and technology’, we await your passion, skill, and ideas at Polyphony Digital.”

Obviously, Gran Turismo 7 has been an extraordinary success on PS5 and PS4, with monthly updates adding to the overall scale of the package.

But we can’t help but wonder whether Polyphony Digital’s attention is slowly beginning to turn to whatever’s next.

With the PS6 expected withing the next couple of years, it’d make sense for the studio to be quietly starting work on its next big project.
